APPLICATIONS
In a typical heating installation the flow temperature would be 820C and
return 710C and the maximum efficiency is about 85% for conventional gas
boilers. However, with a Condensing boiler, the graph above shows the maximum
efficiency could be up to 97% when there is a return temperature of 200C.
Approximately 12% of the heat in gas which is burnt is lost as latent heat,
maintaining water in the combustion products as a vapour. Remaining losses are
largely due to sensible heat in the flue gases (they cannot be cooled below the
temperature of the water in the heating system - this is the critical
factor for condensing boilers). If the latent heat can all be condensed, i.e.
both flue gases and return water temperature reduced to below 550C up to 12%
increase in efficiency can be achieved. This is particularly applicable to
under floor heating, swimming pools, greenhouses and certain process industries.
It is essential each boiler supplied with a condensing unit should be connected
to a flue of appropriate quality to avoid corrosion. All condensate should be
drained in suitable pipe to waste.
COMPATIBILITY
Normally installed with the Kayanson Watkin, Easyfire, Box Sectional and
Dragon boilers, the Eco Kondenser (EK) can also be fitted to other boiler types.

SPECIFICATION
The Eco Kondenser is connected to the rear of the boiler as standard. By
adapting our flue configuration the Ecological and Economical Kayanson Kondeser
can be fitted either left or right at the rear of the boiler. The Eco Kondenser
is a secondary heat recovery chamber designed to work in conjunction with forced
draught boilers and low return water temperatures (preferably 400C or
lower). All relevant controls can be supplied to suit individual applications.
MAINTENANCE
Minimal maintenance is required due to EK's stainless steel construction. The
cleaning doors should be accessible to allow regular maintenance to ensure
optimum efficiency. The condensate outlet must be connected to a weather-protected
drain, via plastic pipe work. The relevant water treatment procedures should be
adhered to.
ECOLOGICAL & ECONOMICAL
The Eco Kondenser is
ecologically and economically sound. Fully condensing boilers can achieve
efficiencies up to 97%. These boilers use less fuel because of their high
efficiency. This leads to considerable financial savings and an added advantage
of less harmful emissions.
